Can my employer tell me not to use [tag]Instant Messaging[/tag] at work?
You’re kidding, right? Sure they can and more of them are becoming more watchful of this type of use of the internet. There are massive security issues, plus it’s a gigantic time waster, typically. My own feeling is that if a company has to be so restrictive in how their people use the web during work hours, they probably have other issues to worry about too. I would be curious to learn about other companies and how they handle this issue. Let me know.

Work for Government. No IMs. No streaming media. If they want you gone, they just pull up your internet use. Think e-mail is private? Not. Save it for at home, folks. Nothing is private, nothing belongs to you at work. Watch phone messages, too.
