Have you heard about the movie “Snakes on the Plane?”  I am not sure if it is a good movie or not, and I am not sure if i will even go.  It sounds like another “Napoleon” movie to me, so I probably will…trying to stay up on popular culture and all that.

What fascinates me more about it is the impact that the social networking site MYSPACE has had on this movie.  The movie’s producers even asked for, and received, like a gazillion ideas for new scenes and lines by the actors, some of which were used, ie. Samuel L.Jackson uttering his memorable line “Snakes on the XXXXX plane, you XXXXXXXXXXXX!”   That was, I am told, suggested by a MYSPACE contributor.  There are Snakes parties, snakes events, etc…all because myspace was used effectively by the movie’s producers….it might become another Rocky Horror Show, for chrissake’s sake.  It is that popular.

Companies are now fearful of what is being said about them on MYSPACE.  Some have even created their own myspace account to answer complaints or problems before they get escalated too far up the food chain.

This is Old School I know (and not the movie), but it seems to me that snakes in the office are not what a business needs.   Dilbert is enough.
