I forgot to tell you what happened after that venture conference. After my presentation, where I spoke mostly about one of our customers [tag]Qwest[/tag] and their founder [tag]Phillip Anshutz[/tag], there was a cocktail reception. Entreprenuers mingling with the venture capitalists.

Lots—ok, several—venture guys came up to me and told me how much they liked my slightly off-normal presentation. I was feeling pretty full of myself.

And then, one of the other venture presenters, I remember his presentation–borrrrriinnnnng—came up to me and said, “Hey, about your presentation.”

I could tell this was going to be ugly.

“I have a bone to pick with you about it.” Ok, great. Now what?

“It was NOT Qwest who first discovered laying down fiber optic wire along railroad right aways. It was [tag]Williams Pipeline Company[/tag].” OMG, I thought. My next thought? This guy will NEVER get funded.

“Anyway, I thought you would like to know.”   As if.
