I can’t agree with you more! I just attended his 5-day workshop in January 2009 and the information, wit and humor is wonderful. Dick himself is inspiring as a man who lives his life to the fullest, with his beautiful wife Marci by his side, and he is so very intelligent. Not only is he a leader in the job search process, but the search for meaning and what is your God-given mission in life is the core of his message delivered in a down to earth way. I hope to be a life-long learner like he is at 82!

Always being around Dick is a learning experience. Dick is a man
of values and principles, to mention few of his qualities.
He is not only an ICON but an inspiration.

I attended his seminar in January 2008 in his home in Danville.
No one will ever forget such an experience.

Dick, Marci and Jim Kell made the whole experience memorable.
GO FOR IT if you are still wondering what your passion and mission
is in life. Hay, you will never regret it.

Hi G.L.,

I’m a baby boomer, too, and just found your blog — love the advice and humor in it!

“What Color” was/is definitely the “job search Bible” since it was published, and now I’ve found a book that compliments it called Getting from College to Career: 90 Things to Do Before You Join the Real World by Lindsey Pollak that I am giving to my son, a college freshman, to read in his spare time. (I figure he will get it done by the time he graduates.) Pollak has worthwhile tips for college students (or any Gen Y/Millenial job seekers) to do before they get to the resume and job interview stage.

I think it’s brilliant in its approach and the way it speaks to our kids’ generation.

Thanks for telling me about Bolles’ 5 day seminar — it’s even in my home state, so will check it out. I personally am still wondering what to do when I grow up.

Good stuff! I think we’ve had 5 copies of his books over the years. Like you said, truly an icon.

But, it makes me wonder. Why were you there with a rep from TenSpeed? A new book in the works?
