1. If you are shopping online and see a box that says “promo code” if you go to the google, and type in “promo codes for XXXX” chances are good you will save 10-30%, ezy-peezy. Let me know if you did.
2. If you bought a Kindle for a Christmas gift (because of Oprah, perhaps?), go to EBay and sell it for more than twice what you paid for it. Then wrap up a picture of the new Kindle 2 and tell ‘em it will be coming in a month or two. Buy it for $300 and sell it for $600, an easy two-fer.
3. If you want the gift that keeps on giving, go to E-Trade, and find a low price stock and give 25 or 50 shares, whatever you can afford. I am betting in a year, they will still remember your generosity because the stock will have least doubled. This could be your small part to play in the recovery.
4. Don’t call 4-1-1 any more. Speed dial Goog-411 for all information calls, it is free and easy. 800-goog411 (800-466-4411).
5. A large chai tea with soy at Starbucks costs over $5. Seriously. I am not kidding. This is the equivalent of paying more than $2 for a soda at the hotel.
Got any more to share during this Christmas season?
In another burst of Christmas cheer, I wrote a Dear Santa letter over at US NEWS today.
