Rosalind – Thanks for your kind comment! It is so tough sometimes to really recognize what we DO control. The next step, not only recognizing, but taking the “wheel” and moving forward can be even more difficult. But, the results are so worth all of the effort! I hope the message that comes through is that, no matter how hard it seems, it will be valuable in the long run to take charge!

Randall – I loved that quote as well! It proves the point that you never know where inspiration lurks. (In this case, in a car commercial!) I agree that using all available tools is important and valuable. Thanks for your comments!

I like the article quote, “You can’t change traffic, so change the way you drive through it!” I can really apply it to my career path as there are so many things that life throws at you and sometime there is nothing you can do about it, the only way around it is to think outside the box and find creative solutions to it, just like the article say ‘drive through it’. I do believe being an open-minded person does help to get yourself through the career bus, to be open to changes and new things. I think branding yourself in the internet virally is great tool that is easy and free so that you can put yourself out there for prospective employers to see you. I put myself through many different social networking site so that I can get different type of offers. One website that is helpful was http://www.onecubicle.com. it helps me through the different processes of socializing with users and also jobs search. It is easy and fast too.
