I just have that happy feeling of friends gathering for a celebration here. I’m not deriving that feeling from the content, which is marvelously written as is the standard on this blog and from Ramana. No, indeed it is the joy of seeing my favorite people exchanging viewpoints.

Having been raised in a business family (my father had the business) I can say everything you said is TRUE! You say it so well.

For him it helped that he chose a business that nobody else was doing. He stored & repaired fur coats which involved the east coast (USA). World War 11(not eleven) was going on & there were no electrical appliances so people bought fur. He had buildings in 2 states, WV & NC with floors of huge vaults. The animal rights people became popular & that was the end of business, but he was ready to retire anyway.

I agree. Studies repeatedly show that how an employee is treated is even more important than money. Good employees want to feel they are needed and appreciated, and they want a chance to grow.

I too have known people with the attitude, “My way or the highway.” It’s amazing that they’re surprised when people choose the latter.
