Important ponderable, GL! Employers and job seekers alike can lose sight of the fact that the hiring process is a two-way street. Jumping at the first opportunity may be tempting as unemployment runs out - who could be faulted? Just consider looking more deeply before jumping head first. The ideal hiring process is a bit of a courtship. In the ideal, you are not desperate, have carefully chosen your intended employer, get their interest, and spark their desire for your talent and a track record. It IS a relationship that you will be stuck in for a minimum of one year lest you leave and mar your resume, they see that you are miscast and free up your future, or you suffer and stay for the sake of the kids. To your gruzzle, do the products/services, growth/potential, and your own values intersect? If not, resist hooking up with the first one that gives you a look.
