Is it just me or is this why job seekers have a hard time with career advice-givers.
Just saying. And I thought tweeting about going to the Mall was bad enough. TMI, Penelope, TMI.
Getting a Brazilian. The woman waxing says she never sees people endure pain as well as I do: Another skill with no path to monetization. ~@penelopeTrunk, a significant author, blogger in the jobs/career space.

I have a really hard time understanding why people follow Penelope Trunk if they’re seriously interested in career issues. I think that’s a generational thing? Maybe. Look at all who’ve found us. You’re a “fuddy duddy” middle America, funny guy who writes on most things having nothing to do with careers and I’m a left-ish woman in New England who writes on career while living with illness. The beauty of the internet – so many options and new people to meet
Don’t worry Rosalind. Wait! A “fuddy-duddy?”
I want you to know I wear slip on shoes, read Variety magazine and hired Al Franken once to do some humor work for me.
But you don’t have to worry about me writing about brazilians, this is for sure.
My book is published in Brazil. Does that count?
Not sure, Nick. But your south-of-the-border puns make me wonder what everyone else is thinking.
I read Trunk’s column regularly. I wouldn’t recommend her social media style to a new careerist (because of the TMI issue), but it seems to work well enough for her. I do think it is good for someone to be out there offering an honest perspective on a woman’s working experience.
Okay, I give up. I’m a dope. What’s TMI? Contagious? Viral or bacterial and does it leave scars?
Too Much Information. In this case, it might be.
