I am not from here originally, but I admit that I say “U betcha,” which is very Minnesotan, maybe Norwegian. We are also fond of ending sentences with with. As in “we are going to the bar to watch the Super Bowl, want to go WITH?” (u betcha!)
What are the things you say in your state or hometown?
As for Brett Favre, I hope he comes back. If he does he will become the ONLY PROFESSIONAL PLAYER EVER IN ANY SPORT to have his jersey retired by two teams. (Packer snd Vikings)
The above billboard was put up in Brett’s hometown in Mississippi, Hattiesburg, and was in today’s Star-Tribune.

Well, we have only lived in RI for 5+ years so we’re still learning the language, but just to help out those who may be coming through on their way to Boston, they don’t eat hot dogs here, just weiners, and if you want a milk shake with it, you will need to ask for a cabinet.
That said, there are no better fried clams anywhere on the planet.
Weiner, soda, pop, hot dogs…heard those…but neverever, have I heard the term cabinet. Good one Dave.
Not so sure about the fried clams. I will trust you on that one.
But what goes with?
I must be from Minnesota, I like to end sentences with with. I also say soda which gets me strange looks since I live in Alabama.
In Alabama, if you ask for tea, it comes sweet. If you order a coke, they ask what kind. Fixin’ means you are about to do something. I really could go on and on
In Massachusetts, it’s the town names that throw a lot of people off.
There are the “sters that are stuhs” such as: Worcester (Wisstuh), Leicester (Lesstuh), Gloucester (Glosstuh).
There are the “ham-hams” such as: Framing-ham, Belling-ham, and Ware-ham — not to be confused with the “um-hams” such as Chatham (Chattum), Dedham (Deddum), or Needham (Needum); and then there’s Waltham, which rhymes with ham but has the soft th (Wall-tham).
And don’t even get me started on all the towns ending in borough, usually spelled boro, and pronounced either burro or bro, depending on which one you’re mentioning.
I moved here in the ’80s and it still cracks me up
“You Betcha” is used here in Vancouver, British Columbia.
I think it is used everywhere
I too hope that Brett comes back.

Things we say in Kansas, in case your memory has slipped
We fish at the crick, not the creek; we drink pop, not soda and we say Hey instead of Hello, as in Hey GL how r ya?! And we say Minnesota? up North, hear it’s beautiful, lots of lakes, but brrrr! we just think it’s cold here.
I miss the “eh” sound. Originally from Minn E Soda and now in California, I get so sick of hearing dude and bro. Can’t everyone just use the word mate?
