Ringo Starr turns 70 today. Tell me he doesn’t look better now than he did in 1964. It might help that he reads my friend Dak’s hip MagnificentBastard website for looking and staying young.
In three years, there’s no chance that Ringo will look like my favorite Okie from Muskogee Merle “Yes I Am” Haggard, now 73.

Keith Richards has ALWAYS looked like that. And he doesn’t die. By the time he is 120, he will look better than most of his peers.
But, you are absolutely right about Ringo. He seems to actually be a quite level-headed, healthy person. But, man, I feel kind of bad when I look at Merle.
By the way, for those readers who don’t know us – GL and I both look fantastic!
Just to be clear, folks, Conrad has worn Ryne Duren glasses since he was 8. So, his vision is somewhat impaired.

GL’s vision is actually very good. His arms are a bit short for certain types of reading, though.

I’m one of the 3! Ryne Duren was one of my favorite players as a kid. He would occasionally throw one of his blazing warm up pitches over the catcher’s head. That, combined with his coke bottle glasses, put the fear of God in opposing batters. He apparently had no clue where the ball was going.
