Dave Opton is the founder and CEO of ExecuNet, one of the nation’s top executive-only search firms, based in Connecticut. He recently wrote about a survey conducted by AESC (Association of Executive Search Consultants) about work/life balance issues. What makes it interesting is that this is one of the first surveys about this issue that has been directed to senior executives. I think it is a fascinating report. Thanks Dave! You can read about it here. Scroll down to his August 8th post.

From the report:

84% say work-life balance considerations are critical in their decision to join or remain with an employer.

65% of executives find a flexible daily work schedule to be the most valuable aspect of a work-life balance program.

54% say work hours have increased during the past 5 years.

51% are less willing to take a job that involves heavy business travel as compared to 5 years ago.

For Dave’s newsletter, sign up here. It is well worth the time and effort.
