Thanks to Liz at US NEWS, I am now aware that bosses have days. I was unaware, completely in the dark and clueless about this fact, ignorant even. I used to kid Joyce, the best assistant like-ever, that her Secretary’s Day seemed like it came around more’n once a year. On Secretary’s Day I used to give her cars and furs. KIDDING.

Bosses need days. Here’s why.

1. It’s lonely at the top.

2. Bosses really want to piss and moan, too…but can’t. That’s why they belong to country clubs, they can piss and moan there. They understand.

3. It would be so much easier if they could figure out how to do it all without customers or employees. If only.

4. Used to be, people asked “how high” when they said “JUMP.” Now, they get ‘feedback’ and counseling.

5. Back in the day, the boss was the most accomplished, experienced, and skilled person in the room. Now, they just babble around IT people, “How do I attach a picture, again????”

Here is another timely boss-oriented blog post by my friend Steve Roesler over at All Things Workplace, titled “What Do You Expect From Your Boss?” What, indeed? Take your time, there is plenty of space below.

And here are some BAD BOSS stories from Business Pundit. Shocking…bad bosses?
