It’s not enough that it’s political season but with the turible-turible (Norwegian accent here) financial mess dominating the news on top of it all, it is getting harder and harder to sort out fact from crap.

Just to help, here are few facts from my viewpoint:

1. For every internet idea that catches fire and gets traction, there are ten thousand that don’t.

2. Maybe some people buy off a well-crafted email or a killer website. But most business is not developed that way. If you sell a considered purchase service or item, you cannot avoid sales people and sales conversations.

3. In downturns some businesses will fail or shrink, and others will flourish. Be the one that flourishes.

4. At the end, we will all say how we shoulda-coulda done some things differently to get ready for the business upturn.

5. Some people will learn major lessons, but most of us will go back to our “normal” behavior.

6. Even though the optimists and positive thinkers will be viewed as unrealistic namby-pambies people still want to hang with them.

7. There are very few barriers to entry in almost any internet only type of business.

8. Lowering prices will not increase sales enough.

9. Pendulums swing both ways.

10. People want to work, improve, grow their business and their career/job.
